Collections

In collections every legal means is directed at collecting the debt but doing so in a professional and ethical manner. The firm is committed to results. The firm succeeds through careful compliance with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act together with other collection laws and regulations, and using the latest technology, asset discovery methods and strategies formulated to get results. Pre-suit collections representation is available. The emphasis is on quickly resolving the case and achieving the maximum recovery for the client.

Deficiencies

The firm is set-up to handle the collection of deficiencies. The firm has a large statewide presence and a successful record in the area of real estate foreclosure and automobile deficiencies. Our success in this area has helped our clients improve their bottom line.

Garnishments

Both wage and bank garnishments provide the creditor the means of quickly and effectively achieving recovery of the judgment debt. The firm successfully utilizes garnishments to make the client whole. Even if the garnishment does not result in the satisfaction of the debt, at the very least the judgment debtor will likely seek a settlement or otherwise resolve the debt.

Commercial Litigation

Commercial litigation encompasses a broad range of civil litigation to include suits on instruments, foreclosures, landlord/ tenant evictions, title curative actions, defensive litigation, and all other business and consumer actions filed in Federal and State courts. The emphasis is on quickly prevailing in the dispute through litigation and any available non-litigation resolution to include demand prior to suit, aggressive negotiation, loss mitigation and when appropriate, mediation, or arbitration.

Creditor Representation In Bankruptcy

From its inception the firm has always represented creditors in Bankruptcy Court throughout the State of Florida. Whether your matter is in Chapter 7, 13, 11 or 12, rest assured the firm has the knowledge and experience to assist you in recovering what you are owed or your security. The firm recognizes that a bankruptcy filing can be very discouraging to the client but through aggressive representation recovery is often successful

Creditors' Rights

The firm has always been a full service creditor's rights firm. This means the firm is dedicated to the recovery of property or money owed and all areas of representation to assure the creditor is made whole. In this area we also concern ourselves and represent creditors who have been sued or have claims against them by borrowers or debtors who respond aggressively to debt collection or recovery efforts.

Our Humble Beginnings

Founded as the Law Offices of Daniel C. Consuegra, P.L., we have been offering representation exclusively in Florida since our founding in 1986. Our commitment to service and professionalism directs every decision we make and every interaction we have with our valued clients.
2007 to 2015

Foreclosure Boom

The firm saw great expansion during this time, as we were predominantly handling foreclosure cases. At one point, the firm counted 500+ employees as part of it's family. In 2015, the foreclosure practice was sold to Shapiro, Fishman & Gache, LLP and we went back to our roots practicing mainly collection cases.
October 2017

Amanda Duffy Joins the Team

In October of 2017, Amanda Duffy joined our team as a partner. She brought her 15+ years of industry knowledge and management skills, and has streamlined workflow, created scalability, provided analytics, and has maintained the gold standard in compliance and customer service.
July 2021

Announcing our New Name

When Amanda Duffy became a partner in October 2017, we formed a new entity, Consuegra & Duffy, P.L.L.C. and for continuity’s sake we continued to operate under our exiting firm name, the Law Offices of Daniel C. Consuegra, P.L. We all worked hard and under Amanda, the firm’s operations and performance reached that next level. We have always sought to be the very best, the firm under its new name is committed to carrying on a proud tradition. Amanda Duffy, Esq.

Partner & Managing Partner
Chief Compliance Officer

Ms. Duffy is the Chief Operations Officer and Legal Operations Manager for the Firm. She has extensive legal and collections experience having started her legal career as a paralegal even before attending law school. She has tried numerous cases and taken matters up on appeal. She is active in the industry and has served on the Small Claims Rules Committees for the Florida Bar since 2012 and as Vice Chair from 2016-2018. She is a past officer and board member of the Florida Creditor’s Bar Association. She speaks and writes on legal and collections topics.

J.C. Dominguez, Esq.

Partner & Strategic Advisor & Process Improvement

Mr. Dominquez is the Strategic Advisor & Process Improvement Manager for the Firm. Joseph C. Dominguez (J.C) was formerly the co-founder of TSI Legal that was purchased by ABCLegal in 2019. At the time of purchase, TSI Legal was the third largest process serving company in the country. Prior to TSI Legal, JC Dominguez served as President and General Counsel of the SCI Companies - a professional employer organization based in Tampa, Florida. JC Dominquez began his career with the SCI Companies in July of 1996 as General Counsel and was instrumental in developing and maintaining all legal processes including corporate structure, contract negotiations, client human resource cases and legislative concerns impacting SCI and the PEO industry. Prior to the SCI Companies, JC Dominguez was an Assistant State Attorney for the Hillsborough County State Attorneys Office, a Manager with Certified Sales, Inc. and Principle of International Corporate Exports, Inc. JC Dominguez is a member of the Florida Bar, the Hillsborough County Bar Association, MBIC for the Florida Minority Supplier Diversity, former member of the Board of Directors for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay, former member of the Board of Directors for the Florida Association of Professional Employer Organizations (FAPEO), former member of the Board of Directors for the Center for Women, and former member of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission Advisory Council.

Joshua Moore, Esq.

Partner and Bankruptcy Lead

Since joining the law firm of Daniel C. Consuegra, PL, Mr. Moore has devoted his efforts to the area of creditors' rights with a specific emphasis on collections. In addition to consistently negotiating favorable settlement agreements, he has undertaken numerous trials and contested hearings in multiple areas including, but not limited to, contracts and indebtedness, replevin, garnishment, and deficiencies. Mr. Moore also routinely conducts discovery in aid of execution and handles both pre-judgment and post judgment collection areas in order to ensure the greatest possibility of high recovery for every account.

Emily Vavra

Director of Operations

Emily Vavra is the Director of Operations for Consuegra & Duffy, PLLC located in Colorado and with offices in Florida. She has been in the ARM industry for over 15 years, holding various leadership roles with collections agencies, debt buyers, process serving agencies, and legal collection operations. Emily has extensive multi-state knowledge of the legal collection process and a strong background in process efficiencies through working with high-volume placements. As the Director of Operations, Emily will be responsible for new state build-out, vendor management, as well as process innovations.
